What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup or PMU is when a micro-pigmentation is implanted into the skin, either by a hand tool or a machine. Essentially, permanent makeup is a tattoo that resembles makeup to enhance a certain feature of your face, such as beautiful brows or a defined lash line.

  • Long-lasting, beautiful results

  • Fill-in gaps, thicken and enhance your brows

  • Creates a natural, effortless look

  • Forget about meticulously filling-in your brows and spending unnecessary time

  • Have stunning brows and eyeliner at all times

  • Increase your confidence

PMU Brows & Liner

Powdered Ombre Brows help clients achieve more of a powdered ombré look instead of individual hair strokes. Powdered brows have a soft makeup look and work great for clients with oily or mature skin.

Blade and Shade or Microshading

technique combines both microblading and powder brows, and allows you to achieve the look of fuller eyebrows.

Microstroke Permanent Brows

procedures range from individual hair strokes for a very natural look to a shaded powder effect

"Beauty and cozy place. Yolanda is the owner and she very nice and friendly. This is my first time doing eyelash extensions and I like them this much. She is kinda busy so make sure you book an appointment as soon as possible if you don't want to wait at least 10 days. I will be back next couples weeks for my refill and next time for doing volume lashes. In general, highly recommended. I will put more stars for her if I can.."

Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing, entails the application of enduring pigments onto your skin. This artistic procedure involves delicately implanting organic color beneath the skin's surface to achieve a long-lasting, lifelike effect.

What to Consider & Ask Your Aesthetician:

If you are unsure which PMU technique is right for you, set-up a permanent makeup consultation to go over all of your options and assess your brow and skin needs. If you have sensitive skin or are allergic to anything, be sure to ask your aesthetician about the products being used and possibly to patch test beforehand. If you use retinol, chemical peels, Botox, or take Accutane, please consult with us and do your research beforehand because these products may make your skin more sensitive and disrupt the results. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you cannot have these treatments done.

Pre-Appointment:

Bring in photos to show us your brow or lash line inspiration so we can have an idea of what you want. Do not wear any makeup the day of appointment. If you are getting eyeliner, do not wear contacts as it get irritate your eyes. Do not take aspirin or any blood-thinning medicine the day of your appointment to avoid complications.

Will it Hurt?

First, we will assess your skin type, your brows or lash line, depending on what service you are getting, and what your ideal outcome is. We then brow map your brows or outline your lash line to create your ideal shape/look. We will apply a numbing cream and an anesthetic to the area to lessen or even eliminate pain. Now we begin the permanent makeup process. Lastly, we apply soothing cream to the area to help with any discomfort and begin to alleviate any redness. Say hello to your stunning new look!

Will it Hurt?

We take every precaution necessary to ensure the micro-pigmentation application is as pain free as possible. A wide range of medical grade anesthetics are used for your comfort.  Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas other clients report no discomfort at all.  A combination of 2 anesthetics are used, first a topical numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is introduced once the procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable. Similar to our other PMU services.

How long does it take to do?

The procedure is split into 2 appointments, which are 4-8 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete.  The initial procedure will take from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours depending on your procedure and your second appointment takes from 90 to 120 minutes.

How long is the recovery or healing time?

Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows.  Initially stronger in color, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful color in two to three weeks. Working out or sweating shouldn't be done for about 10-14 day because it affects the healing process.

What will they look like immediately after the procedure?

Your brows may be a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit white.  This is all very normal.  They will be considerably darker for the first week, before they begin to fade out to a softer color.

Does it hurt afterwards?

The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and then tender to the touch for a couple of days.

Will I Need a Follow-Up Appointment

Yes! All permanent cosmetic procedures need a follow-up appointment to address and issues you may be having or if you may need a touch-up.

Will they fade?

Your body’s skin changes over time and so will any permanent makeup coloration implanted in to the skins layers.  However, this natural fading process takes years and touch ups are easily done as your color fades over time.

How long does pmu last?

This varies from person to person and depends on whether or not you get the recommended touch up/ second session within 8 weeks of the first session but on average last from 24-36 months after your initial session.Eyeliner can last anywhere from 3-5 years. Sometimes longer but it varies.

What if I don’t like my brows?

Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent.  Colors will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will often soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and remember it takes time to adjust to a new look!

Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?

During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding.  This will depend on the client.  If a person is taking blood thinners on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur.  Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners, then bruising can occur.  There is usually some tenderness for a few days.  The color appears much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.

  • For help with swelling: Gently ice for 15 minutes every hour following your service for approx. 4 hours.

  • Do not apply any makeup on the tattooed area for 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind will interfere with the healing and color.
